HOORAY! GAS ASSISTANCE $700-$1300 STIMULUS CHECKS FOR TAXPAYERS+INFLATION STIMULUS REFUNDS (USE IT!)

Gas Stimulus Check Update. Now as the country continues to see high gas prices with the national average at $4.23 a gallon for gasoline they are already efforts underway in both Washington and states across the country to address increasing gas prices in the form of Gas stimulus payments, rebates, and suspension of state gas taxes so we are going to recap that and in turn ask are these efforts enough and if not what would you propose in dealing with record high gas prices. Now starting off in Washington where one proposal that has been introduced is the Gas Rebate Act of 2022 which would work similarly to those stimulus checks from 2020 and 2021. The proposal calls for tax filers to receive $100 every month while the national average gas price is over $4 a gallon. Taxpayers would also receive $100 for each dependent as well. It would apply to Those single taxpayers earning $75,000 a year or less who would receive the full amount and be phased out as they reach $80,000 a year. Meanwhile Joint tax filers who earn less than $150,000 a year would qualify, and the payments phased out for those earning up to $160,000 a year. This bill has been introduced in the house ways and means committee. Meanwhile states are beginning to take their own action on the matter of high gas prices starting off with California which is seeing a statewide average of $5.88 a gallon, while Los Angeles County is seeing an average of $6.03 a gallon. A state proposal has car owners receiving $400 stimulus payments per car with a limit of 2 per household starting in July. Now the consensus is this will in fact pass once details including income limitations are settled by the legislature. Meanwhile Maryland, Georgia and just yesterday Connecticut have all suspended their state Gas taxes due to the increased prices. Maryland’s suspension saves residents 36 cents a gallon for 30 days, Georgia has suspended it’s 29 cent tax until the end of May and Connecticut has suspended it’s 25 cent gas tax from April 1st to July 1st.
